Ryobi Aluminium Casting (UK) Ltd completes its investment in the latest technology for engine block production.
These fully automated High Pressure Die Casting Cells robotically locate steel cylinder liners into the die prior to injecting 18kg of molten aluminium at high speed, temperature and pressure.
After the metal solidifies and the die opens a robot unloads the casting and transfers it to the next trimming and finishing operations.
“We now have a total of 5 fully automated die casting cells using the latest technology , each producing over 550 finished engine blocks per day” says Stafford Doran, Manufacturing Manager in charge of this area of the plant.
Daily shipments of light weight 3 cylinder engine blocks leave the site for engine assembly plants in France and Hungary.
